Drakensang is a browser based MMORPG set in the Anderworld. The world of drakensang is a place full of wonder and peril. There once was a time when terrifying dragons and other savage monsters were dominating the wild lands of Anderworld. After witnessing the rise of the human race, these savage monsters were pushed to the brink of extinction and soon they had no choice but to go into hiding- remembering their lost power and waiting for the right moment to strike and take back what was once theirs.
The first thing you’ll notice about the game is that it has good graphics (considering that this game is available in browsers). You can play this game either on the browser, or you can download the game client from the official webpage. Soon after logging in, it’ll become clear that this game has been influenced a lot by the Diablo games. Like in Diablo, this game has no tab targeting- you have to use your mouse to do most of the things, but at minimum, you still have to use your keyboard to cast skills and quickly use potions that are on your quick-bar.
There’s one thing I really don’t like about this game though. This game is Pay For Power, you can use real money to buy Andermant (an in-game currency). You can use Andermant’s to buy pretty much everything you’d need in the game. However, everything about the Andermant currency isn’t that bad- the good thing about it is that monsters drop it in the game.
At the moment, there are 3 different classes you can choose from:
Dragonknight – A fierce warrior class, skilled in hand-to-hand combat. They are capable of channeling their fury to invoke special skills and use powerful attacks, because of their fury, the longer they stay in battle, the more dangerous they become.
Spellweaver – Spellweavers are the magic class in this game. They are an excellent ranged class. They use mana to control the elements of fire, ice and lightning and manifest their powers by invoking impressive spells. Although, they are weak in close combat, they’re hard to catch.
Ranger – Rangers are the archer/assassin class in this game. They are very nimble, as they stay constantly in motion. They choose their prey from afar, weakening it with their bow and finishing them off in close combat.
Another good thing in this game is that you can create up to 4 characters, so you can try out all of them- Be warned though, to prevent exploits, you need to have 200 Andermant’s if you want to delete your charater.
All-in-all this is a great game and definitely deserves a try.
