According to Kotaku, Carbine Studios, the developer of MMORPG WildStar, is shutting down.
There’s no word yet when the game will be closed down, but the preparations have already been started.
Apparently all players who have spent real money in the game will be refunded purchases made from July 1, 2018 until the payment system is shut down.
It’s still unclear what will happen to most of the team. NCSoft (parent company of Carbine) has stated that they will try to shift as many of the people as possible into other roles within the organisation.
Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the layoffs and to everyone who loved the game.
