Star Citizen Reaches $18 Mil in Funding

Star Citizen is one of the most anticipated MMO’s scheduled for December 2014. The game is also easily one of the most demanding MMO’s out there. The game started as a crowdfunding project in kickstarter back in October 2012.

After the kickstarter project ended, Star Citizen continued receiving crowd funding through their official webpage. Recently the game reached $18 million milestone in crowd funding, which makes Star Citizen the largest crowd-funded project EVER, with no signs of slowing down. The developers promised to add First person combat on select lawless planets once the game reaches $20 million in crowd funding.

If nothing else, the game is very ambitious. The game is going to have next-gen graphics and the developers boast about their plans of supporting Oculus Rift. The next-gen graphics come with a cost though- the game will require hefty PC specs that are sure to make many gamers cry.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
  • DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM
  • Quad core CPU
  • 8GB Memory
