Earlier yesterday, Blizzard revealed the upcoming social update details for their critically acclaimed first-person shooter Overwatch.
The update spotlights many highly anticipated features, such as Endorsements and Looking for Group.
There are 3 different kinds of endorsements you can give to players: Sportsmanship, Good Teammate and Shot Caller. The first one you can be given to anyone, the other ones are reserved for teammates only. Players who consistently maintain a high endorsement will be rewarded periodically.
Looking for Group is probably the most anticipated social feature for the game. This enables players to create groups according to their vision. Group leaders may restrict roles to 2-2-2 (2 damage, 2 tanks and 2 support) or make it more lax and just require voice chat capabilities. You can also name your group, so you can let other players know that you’re looking for serious and mature players who will help you climb to diamond.
The update also merges the attack and defense heroes into a new category: Damage as well as completely re-works Symmetra. Symmetra has been changed from support to a damage hero.
Here’s a video highlighting all the new updates.
