Epic has announced that they’ll be hosting a special Fortnite Winter Royale Tournament with a prize pool of $1,000,000. The open qualifiers for the tournament will take place November 24-25. The European finals of the tournament will take place November 30th – December 1st and the North American finals December 11-12.
The Open Qualifiers means that Epic will finally be testing their new Online Tournament system, that they’re hoping will be used next year to determine the participants of the Fortnite World Cup. The Winter Tournament Qualifiers will emulate the same process they’re planning to use for the World Cup.
There will be many chances for everyone to try and get a high score during the Winter Royale Qualifier days (Novemberr 24-25). Only one of the scores (the highest) you achieve during any event session will be the one that counts. Winter Royale will use the same game settings as the currently available Pop-Up Cup.
The top performers in NA and EU will be verified and the players found eligible will be invited to participate in the Winter Royale Finals for their region.
